For many years Liz worked as a nurse in various NHS settings, including hospital and the community.

Whilst working with women suffering from post-natal illness she became very interested in the counselling process.

Liz qualified as a person centred counsellor in 1999 and since then has worked in both the NHS as a primary care counsellor in doctor’s surgeries and in private practice.

Liz has added cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, EMDR and critical incident debriefing (CID) to her skills base.

This has given her a broad range of knowledge and experience which underpins her counselling practice today.

Over the years Liz has worked with many people who have been suffering from amongst other things depression, (and post-natal illness), anxiety, stress, relationship issues, bereavement and work related problems or concerns.

Liz is aware that sometimes there is no ‘clinical’ reason for wanting or needing counselling – that some people just need a temporary, safe and confidential environment to talk things through, or to be supported through a difficult or complex situation.

Currently Liz has a private counselling practice in Exeter, and is also involved with an internet parenting group where she mentors and supervises the online parent supporters.
